After a completely un-relaxing (if that is a word), extremely heavy drinking trip back to the UK and Belgium, I have been lying relatively low for the past couple of weeks, recharging and trying to recover a little. This weekend though, my insatiable thirst for good beer will appear again and I am heading over to Yokohama for the Yokohama Winter Beer Bash.
This is an event organised by the folks at Japan Beer Times to celebrate their third anniversary and will feature a host of Japanese breweries that have sponsored the magazine, as well as some nice imports selected by a few good beer importers. It runs from 12 till 5 on Sunday 27th January. Full details including ticket buying opportunities (available to purchase from a selection of good Tokyo and Yokohama bars), directions and most importantly the beer list can be found on the Japan Beer Times website here.
So, a festival with good beers, decent serving sizes (300ml) and drink tickets for ¥500. Pretty good I think. ¥2000 gets you an entrance ticket and three servings. It’s ¥500 more expensive if you buy on the door, and then you also run the risk that it might sell out, so best buy in advance. See you there!
