Ushigome Beerkan is a brewpub which is close to both Kagurazaka and Ushigome stations. There aren’t any visible beer tanks but the beer is brewed on site. There are six taps which are all their own beers. The beer label is Shingetsu (New Moon) not Ushigome Beer. The styles don’t all stay the same. When I was in they had an American Amber Ale, Imperial Stout, Belgian Dark Ale, American IPA, Red IPA and an American Pale Ale. I liked the Red IPA best but they were all pretty good. Beers come in three sizes. A small is 255ml and costs ¥700. A regular is 380ml and costs ¥950. A British pint is 570ml and costs ¥1200. They also do a flight of three 150ml beers of your choice for ¥1200. There is no charge and no tax added on. Definitely cheaper than standard prices nowadays but they do brew the beers themselves and that must help keep costs down. The counter only has three seats and they face the window that you can see in the photo. There is also table seating for 16 people. The food menu is pretty good and it’s also cheap.
I liked Ushigome Beerkan. I popped in here as part of a stamp rally and I was glad I did. Because they only have their own beers it probably wouldn’t be a place you would visit every week but the food and beer are good and well priced and thus would be a good place to visit occasionally with friends.
