Number 6 is a cafe bar in Ningyocho. The name comes from the fact that there are six taps of craft beer. They were all domestic when I went. Number 6 also has good coffee and Nihonshu, but I won’t write about these here.
On my visit there was a Fresh Hop Fair, which I thought was a nice idea. All six taps were Fresh Hop beers from different breweries and it was interesting to do a drink comparison. Half pints were around ¥800 and pints were about ¥1200-1300. All the beers were domestic but these prices are still better than the average price for craft beer nowadays.
There are eight counter seats and table seating for about 20 people. I like places with a decent number of counter seats as I often go bar hopping alone. Number 6 is a very good place to drink alone at the counter as the staff are friendly and engage you in conversation. Of course, it would be a good place to go to with friends too. There was no cover charge and I can’t remember if tax was added on at the end or not but there was free WiFi.
Overall, I really liked Number 6 and would definitely recommend popping in if you are in the area.
