A quick post today and this time it will be really quick. I’ve written before about a 7-11 in Chitose Funabashi that has a good beer selection. At the time I wrote that, I was told about this branch, halfway out to sea and about a ten minute walk from Bashamichi station. It’s worth the walk though as it has loads of craft beers. Most, if not all of it, is imported stuff though, but the selection is massive, and the prices are reasonable. Unless you’re about to take a boat somewhere, it’s probably unlikely that you’ll be walking past, but it’s worth the walk if you want to pick up some stuff to drink at home (or wherever you want really, that part’s up to you!). There were probably a few hundred selections here, so it really trumps the other 7-11. Not much else to say I guess, as aside from the beer it’s a pretty standard 7-11, with the addition of a few import shop style snacks.
A quick update to say that it seems I was pretty unobservant and a few people told me they have five fridges full of Japanese beers at the back of the shop. I guess I presumed that all the beers would be together in the same place! Apparently there is also a deck area if you walk through the Hammer Head shopping centre where you can drink your beers. Not sure if this is an official thing or just what some people do. There is also an Instagram link added below now, so you can check out some of the things they stock.
Japanese breweries stocked when I visited:
Didn’t see any, but maybe there were some hidden away (they weren’t, I was just apparently rendered sightless but the fact that they had the exact beer I’d gone to buy)
It’s a 7-11 so it’s always open
