It’s that time of year again for us to enter the Super Arena and drink to excess. Keyaki is back and as it’s Autumn, it’s inside. I have to say when they first started putting the Autumn festival inside I was a bit disappointed, but I have grown to appreciate it for it’s ample seating and toilets. This time it’s a five day event running from the 15th September to the 19th. If you can read Japanese you can find a beer list here. I’ll put the details below but needless to say, the basic idea is that you turn up, pay nothing to enter and just buy the beers you want which always seems like a good thing to me. Go early to get a seat if you want/if you can. It’s one of my favourite events of the year and I always have a good time here. Maybe not so much the following morning though… If you’ve never been to one, I highly recommend it.
Beer prices and serving sizes vary, but in general you will be paying from ¥300-¥600 for 200-570ml (my best guess). Plenty of the breweries offer tasting sets where you get four small cups for ¥1000. It’s a great place to try new stuff.
The festival runs from Thursday 15th September through to Monday 19th. This time round, the opening hours are generally 11:00-21:30, with shorter hours on the first and last days (16:00-21:30 on the first Thursday, and 11:00-19:00 on the final Monday). Cheers!
I enjoyed reading this work. I'll come back for more
