Just a quick post to remind you that the Spring version of Keyaki is happening next week from Thursday 29th May to Sunday 1st June. Once again there will be a huge amount of interesting Japanese craft beer to drink with brewers from all over the country, as well as a few imports. As it is Spring, we are back outside on the plaza rather than in the Saitama Super Arena. I was worried last time that having it inside would spoil it a bit, but it definitely didn’t. However, I am looking forward to it being outside again this time as it adds a certain something special. Just hope the weather is good. Might have that toilet problem again though.
The hours have changed slightly. The regular hours this time are from 11:00 to 22:00, apart from Thursday, when it opens at 16:00 and Sunday, when it closes at 20:00. I will be heading up on Friday and Saturday I think. No entry charge, you just pay for the beers you want to drink and these are pretty reasonably priced on the whole. This is definitely my favourite of all the festivals I have been to in Japan, so highly recommended. You can check out their website for a beer list if you can read Japanese, or if not, just bear in mind that the majority of Japanese craft breweries are here with both their regular line-ups, some seasonals and some beers made specially for the event.
It’s very close to Saitamashintoshin station and that’s not more than 30 minutes out of Tokyo from Shinjuku. Perfect! See you there!
