Finally I’ve made it to Our Days. I feel a bit bad as I am kind of close to it every week when I go to Gremlin, but until now have never made it here. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the experience so it definitely won’t be the last time I visit. It’s located north of Koshu Kaido at the top of a weird kind of slightly flattened triangle with the other two points being Gremlin and Pintology. Unlike the other two place though, Our Days is a brewery. (And a clubhouse too apparently but to be honest, I’m not 100% about the details of that part). Here’s what you need to know:
- Pretty small place (or at least the bar area is), with seating for six in a little taproom in front of the brewery. I think the club house area is upstairs and they sometimes hold events or pop up shops there. But as this is a beer website, I’ll focus on the bar part. Seating at a couple of small counters. Some interesting photos and artwork. It was a nice place to sit and have a few beers. They also had some small snack food items.
- Eight taps, all of their own beers, made on site. Beers were served in two sizes, large and regular for ¥1500 and ¥900 respectively. Unfortunately, I didn’t see the large size (I’m going to guess it’s US pint), but I’d say the regular is around 300ml. They also have a flight of three beers available for ¥1500. The size for these was probably around 150-200ml. I’ve left it a bit late to write this so my recollection is slightly hazy. Think they also had some of their beers in bottles or cans. I really should have made more notes…
- No cover charge, some daytime opening at the weekend. Didn’t find WiFi but as you’d expect from a post this vague, I can’t remember if I actually looked for it or not. To be fair to myself, it was my birthday when I visited so I wasn’t that focused on making notes for a blog post. Belated birthday presents can be sent in the form of high value cash donations via the donate button. Thank you in advance. 😉
This was a fun place and the IPA which I had first tasted really fresh. Perhaps the small size of the bar means that you probably won’t be spending all night here, but it’s definitely a good place to combine with a little crawl of the bars in the local area. It has a real community feel and I guess this is probably further enhanced by the club house element when it’s open for events. Definitely a place worth popping in to if you’re in the area.
